Notebook #1 - VVV (estimated provenance 1998)

This notebook, a 7-3/4" by 5 inch oversized monster, has the handwritten initials VVV emblazoned on front, in honor of a spec screenplay title that is currently being revived by yours truly, so we won't get into that bit.

But there are some other goodies-- some notes and ideas for the "Fajita Irons" character-- created by gifted comic actor friend Kelly Perine. Fajita is such a purist about the golf course that he likes to catch divots before they fall back to earth. In a pinch, he once re-gripped with maple syrup. he watches The Wind Channel in the clubhouse before a loop. Invented a Swiss Army wedge.

lots of computerese gibberish about parallel ports and serial ports. headings like cyL, HD, PRG, etc. DOS prompts. i didn't know about that stuff then, and i am similarly tech unsavvy today.

this notebook also contains notes from my LA Times piece, The Junket They Shoulda Junked. wherein Eric Idle and Ryan O'Neal both trash "Burn Hollywood Burn," a horrible comedy they starred in, and were honest enough to savage. good stuff.

one of the few decent jokes: "The Discovery Channel just bought Court TV. They said there wouldn't be any changes, but I just watched a one-hour documentary on the mating habits of the North American bailiff."

also, lyrics for the tragically unproduced song "Suing Aaron Spelling."

chorus: "Suing Aaron Spelling / cause my soul is shallow / but my body's not."

also notes on two other LA Times pieces: one on the Razzies, and the other a comedy piece on the Ford/Heche classic "Six Days, Seven Nights."

(more to come on this... and a picture of the notebook!)
